Taiwanese steel mills rush to purchase scrap

It is reported that currently, as the steel flat product market has stayed in upward trend, Taiwan's blast furnace mills have rushed to purchase scrap.

It is known that the prices of steel flat products have soared by USD 200 per tonne since November 2010 until now.

Accordingly, Taiwan's BF mills have planned to increase the production capacity to meet the strong demand.

It may be recalled that some major steel mills such as Dragon Steel, China Steel Corporation have started to purchase scrap one after another.
